About us
Motto: “Creating, enabling and sustaining a functioning Nigeria”
In January 2013, a group of Nigerians met in Atlanta, Georgia and resolved to make a tangible and lasting contributions to the functioning of the Nigerian society with emphasis on democratic governance, accountability, and empowerment of the civil society.
WHEREAS it is in the global interest that democracy and good governance is promoted and sustained in every human society and more so now in developing countries and in Africa in particular;
WHEREAS by its giant population size, natural resources, strategic geographic location and influence in the sub-Sahara African region, Nigeria should not only be a stable democracy but also a model of democracy, good governance and the rule of law for other African countries;
WHEREAS the success of Nigeria as a peaceful and stable democratic society would benefit the global community at large and Africa in particular;
WHEREAS corruption, unchecked self-interest and the rule of persons rather than the rule of law are the norm in Nigeria amplified by polarizing undemocratic forces along tribal and religious cleavages, and gravely undermine a peaceful and stable democratic Nigerian society;
AND acknowledging that God’s intervention is needed to create and sustain a stable democratic society and institutions of government with the principles of freedom and good governance deeply entrenched;
AND FURTHER acknowledging that God works through people, and can use God-fearing Nigerians, friends and promoters of democracy, to bring about a peaceful, stable and enduring democracy in Nigeria with far-reaching positive impact on the African continent;
WE, as an organization, commit to the cause of promoting and sustaining a peaceful and stable democracy in Nigeria and, by extension, in Africa; and to fighting the vices of corruption, unchecked self-interest and the rule of persons inimical to this cause; and we establish the following:
